Welcome to the 18th edition of Tips and Tutorials on the 22nd! I decided this month to open up the linky party and see what happens. Last month, I just posted things that I saw and this month I am doing both. All this experimenting should lead me to some conclusion shouldn’t it?
My Pinterest Tips/Tutorials Board needs a little updating (the last ones I put in were from April), but I should be all caught up by the end of today with links to all the fabulous blog entries that have come through in the last few m. I am going to try a hybrid method this month…allowing people to link up and I will point you to a few things I found interesting.

First up is Preeti who blogs at Sew Preeti Quilts. This is a fabulous tutorial on choosing fabrics and also has links to her Positivity QAL. I just started cutting my first 24 blocks and I am sure they will be sewed up before the week is out. Have some fun seeing how fabric works and think about working on whittling down your stash with me.

Yvonne does a great job explaining color theory and transparency. She has an apps that she used for doing some analysis. I can see this being so useful when you are really working to get that transparency effect or figure out why you are not getting the contrast you need in a quilt.
PhoebeMoon Designs blogs at Scrapdash and she posted this block she called Savanna Scramble. I just love blocks with partial seams; they always have a different feel to them and this one is no exception.

Laura, from Slice of Pi, always comes up with clever ideas and many of the quilts she made were very simple. She posted a group of quilts she made for the library. All of the quilts came from different children’s books. I know some folks who will have a ball with this idea.

Susan and I were both using freezer paper, but in different ways. She was using freezer paper for paper piecing. This technique is awesome because you can reuse the template!

For me, freezer paper was used it for piecing on the sewing machine. Both are interesting techniques and very useful. Both of the blocks were from Block Base +.
And here are a few more:
A link to Carla’s Princess Doll is found in this blog entry. I may make this for my grandnieces!
The Bind About Binding by Melva helps you remember there are options when you don’t have quite enough fabric.
A bowl tutorial from Gail who blogs at Quilting Gail is also a another great one for this month!

And for those I missed that want to link up, here you go! I often have a week where I don’t keep notes very well – this month due to travel – so I want folks to have this option too. I don’t see everything, I try but I know that I don’t. Remember to hop along, too, with the bloggers who are going on about Fairy Tales, the full list is here, and there will surely be some projects with tips/tutes to catch your eye!
