Little time to sew is making me a bit cranky – or could it be this endless wet, cold spring? Either way here’s a few things I have been up to!
I brought my M3 (Meadow Mist Mystery) Quilt to Burlington Electric Quilt Studio. I haven’t had time to photograph the quilting so here is a reminder of what the quilt looks like.
And here is a video of it being quilted on a Gamill wth a Statler Sticher.
I finished this Sashiko pillow right before I went to Pennsylvania for my niece’s graduation. It was one of my UFO’s for the APQ Resolution. Its not fancy but, I love it. I learned how quick it was to do Shashiko and it will become a default take along project, when I want something compact.
April and May UFOs (a little late on April)
Finished Shasiko Pillow!
Quilted and added binding to M3 quilt (binding will make it done for my list)
-bind and label M3 Quilt
-pick some colors for La Passacagalia (carry over from last week)
-begin animal alphabet quilt (ready to cut)
-label a few quilts (carry over from last week)

I really like your Meadow Mystery quilt. That deep blue is really lovely.
Thanks, Emily. It was my first mystery and I loved doing it. I was surprised by that, but it used fabric I had in my stash that was longing for a quilt!
I love the Meadow Mystery quilt; I wish I would've done that QAL. I don't have my Sashiko pillow made yet, but it's on my list!
The pattern for the QAL is still available, and she's running another this year. You'll enjoy the shasiko. I was surprised how quickly it went; if only some of my other projects went that fast!
Your Meadow Mystery quilt is lovely, and I like that we both just finished hand work and turned them into pillows. 🙂
Thanks, Yvonne. I have too many tops to finish right now, so pillows seem terrific. And this one did not require quilting!
Your coming right up on your Meadow Mist mystery finish–yay! Great job on the sashiko pillow, too!
Thank you, Nancy. I look forward to having the binding sewn. Won't make it for the end of May, but very early June!
Wow! Your MM quilt is stunning! I can't see the video though…hmm, might be blocked on Safari? The pillow is beautiful too!
Your Meadow Mist Mystery flimsy turned out beautifully. I often worry whether or not the fabrics I pick for a mystery will work, so I haven't participated in a mystery yet. Your choice of fabrics definitely worked well.
I used the old rule of having a focus fabric, and it worked. I used the border fabric and made my choices based on it. Generally works, and I have to say I love it.
Kathleen, wonderful job on the mystery quilt! You chose such great fabrics that contast so well!
Thanks, Paige. It was really fun and I am so tempted to do it again. Have to check my stash and see if anything calls!
Beautiful mystery quilt, I love it!
Thanks, Cheryl. It was a great project and I’m thinking about doing this years!
