Lately I have felt a little disjointed going from one sew along or quilt along to another. I am popping in to share my progress on the Stay at Home Round Robin quilt.

SAHRR Block #2: Stars
This week, Wendy at Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life asked us to include stars. I already had one, and thought, I can do that!

I found a similar star that I liked and worked it up in EQ8. I decided to paper piece as the pieces were small…finished blocks at 1 5/8″ for a finished 4″ block.

I think it worked out well.

And, here are my 4 stars together in the borders. Our internet was out for the day…complicating my time so this is a rushed post. Wendy’s party closes at midnight and I wanted to link up. I will add the border pieces tomorrow….but there may be a coping strip, so I have to figure that out before I finish it up.

Here is the schedule if you are interested. The first two connect to the right post so you don’t have to look for it. Its not to late to join. You are totally in charge of your stay at home project…do a block or a row or not. Come, join in on the fun. There are prizes, too, this year…an added incentive to making your block into a useful quilt!

Other News or Ideas
I have made progress on the Diatom QAL and will show that later this week. I have a few more blocks to make for the border of block 2 and then catch up with block 3. I understand the border blocks…drunkard’s path for the postage stamp setting so that will make it easier.
I have a few squirrels knocking at my door, some little gifts that someone is making each month and may get onto one of those, but the list is long and we have had some internet & heating time sucks so we will see if I get to play or not!

No progress since my last post as there are no finishes….so I have still not made a dent in the stash.

Oh, I love how this looks, Kathleen! It looks like the spools and little stars are bursting forth! Love it!
I LOVE your fancy stars, Kathleen!!! They looks fantastic!
Adorable little stars, I like how this is coming together.
Very clever to reduce the size of the new stars to match your large center one! I hope the internet and heating issues are resolved very soon.
Your SAHRR elements look gorgeous Kathleen!
Looking great Kathleen. Those little pieces came together perfectly!!
Using a similar star was a really good idea, Kathleen. Happy stitching!
I like it I think this is working out good for your design
This is coming together beautifully! I don’t blame you for paper piecing that tiny center block, even though paper piecing is not my favorite thing to do! LOL
Your bits and pieces are beautiful. When combined, the spools and stars make such a pretty round. Those tiny stars must have been a challenge – smart to paper piece them. 🙂
I like how your spool blocks and star blocks for the first border have the same centers!
this is so balanced. The little stars repeating the center shape, but different, added in with the last blocks into the row is very cool

KATHLEEN!! WOWEE. What a cool block. It is just perfect surrounding that fabulous center medallion. How convenient that it has an hourglass in the center of it! You might decide to take the week off . . . or add some more of them. Very, very fab in my book. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Your SAHRR is looking stunning. Those fabrics and everything are all so perfect.
So cool! Your project is coming along nicely!
Hang in there, you’ll make progress on your stash this year! Great stars.
So interesting to see how different the SAHRR will be. Yours is wonderfull. So tiny little stars, and done!! I used the seam ripper and be running …. Äh.. sewing behind. But there is still some days (night with free time) left this week.
Wow Kathleen. I love your stars on your SAHRR project. after reading your post I am getting curious to see some of the projects that you will soon be writing about.
