This is becoming a reality! It is very exciting to see your designs coming together. As I showed last week, I made a model for this star. We measured the space in our cottage where my husband wants it; I may be adding a little bit of a border.
So here is what I finished yesterday. What you don’t see is a lot of prep work.
- All the paper piecing pieces are printed on paper piecing paper.
- Templates for the pieces are printed
I use templates to cut pieces of fabric 1/2″ seam allowance around and generally that makes the piecing go easier.
I packed some English Paper Piecing for a trip. Some of you may remember a post about my nephew a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he died on Wednesday, so we are going to be with family for the weekend. We are shocked; we knew this was always a possibility. He was 32 and had juvenile diabetes. He was not in dire shape, but had some trouble controlling his insulin and had 2 bad incidents recently. This one, however, was fatal. This project may get touched and it may not. It may or may not be my October Island Batik project. Time will tell.
I am shutting down comments on this entry and going dark for a bit. We have company next week and I won’t hit my stride until the last week of this month.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We really need them,
In piece/peace,
