It’s about time I got you up to date on what will be a busy few weeks for my blog and my sewing room. There are two projects that will be my immediate focus – my quilt for the Starry Seas Blog hop and my Stay At Home Round Robin blocks and quilt for 2026. Let me tell you a little more about each.
The Starry Seas Blog Hop
The Stary Seas blog hop will feature Jennifer Fulton’s newest line for Island Batik/Lumin fabrics. It is a gorgeous set of fabrics, with teals, blues, corals and rusts and fun sea and star motifs. I just love it.

Stay At Home Round Robin 2026

Yup, we are back and it is almost time to begin the Stay At Home Round Robin. Yes, you get to stay home and so does your quilt. You are the only one who works on it, but we give you blocks each week to add to your quilt. If you are curious, here’s the LINK where you can see all the quilts made last year. The fun thing is they are so different each year. We are posting on Wednesdays, not Mondays as we have in the past….a change for all of us. Somethings haven’t changed and last years hosts are coming back:
- Anja @ Anja Quilts
- Brenda @ Songbird Designs
- Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- Gail @ Quilting Gail (she was the instigator many years ago)
- Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing
- Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
And here is the schedule for this year. While one person sets the prompt for the rounds, the others will have fabulous ideas so you will want to stop at each of the hosts!
- January 14 Each of the hosts will be sharing their center blocks
- January 21: 1st Round: Brenda @ Songbird Designs
- January 28: 2nd Round: Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing
- February 4: 3rd Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 11: 4th Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 18: 5th Round: Gail @ Quilting Gail
- February 25: 6th Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- March 25: Parade: Your Finished SAHRRs!
So, begin thinking about a collection of fabric you may want to work in and if you have a block to use for the center or need to make one. We are a friendly group with few rules, except, we do ask you to make a block that reflects that week’s prompt….if you can make the story work we accept it. It is all up to you so it can be a fun way to do something different with some leftover scraps from a great project!
I have yet to pick my center and fabrics, so I am right there with you. I will be on retreat next week and working along with the you. There is no registration, just come along next week and find out our what our center blocks and fabrics look like and begin playing in your fabric! You can join in the first linky party showing your block for the center, so maybe start thinking about it (I know I have to). Then, the prompt prompts for the rounds begins the following week, and doesn’t have to be done until the 27th, so you have most of the month to work on it! At least for me, it feels good to think of it that way.
More details will be coming in my post on Wednesday, including some of the sponsors for the hop and my center choice and fabric selection!

See you on Wednesday Kathleen. Looking forward to another fun adventure.
Starry Seas is gorgeous – I’ve always loved blues with oranges. Looking forward to seeing the starting blocks of the SAHRR! January 14th isn’t a linkup, right? It’s just to show the hosts starting blocks?
I love the Island Batik fabric!!
I just finished my Project Quilting 17.1 quilt and so I’ll have time this week to think about the SAHRR. I think I’ll be able to join in every other week in between Project Quilting prompts. I’m looking forward to participating this year!
Those batiks are gorgeous! I’m pretty excited for this year’s SAHRR!
I may have said it before, but no matter. I really like your colors.
