Our 2025 Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR) begins on January 13th and runs until February 24th. We post prompts each week and encourage quilters to make a quilt. The final quilts are proudly paraded on March 24th. This year’s logo was designed by Brenda of Songbird Designs.
What Is Stay at Home Round Robin?
Round Robin quilting has been around for a while. The basic way it works is that the quilter picks a block and sometimes fabric. The bee/group of other quilters is given a prompt they must follow and add to the center of the quilt. For instance, the first prompt might be 9-patches. This means you make 9-patch blocks and add them to the center. Then you pass to person #2, who follows prompt #2. It might be flying geese, so you add those. It continues until it is returned to the quilter, a completed top!
Stay at Home Round Robin means you do all the work. You choose or make the center. You select fabrics. You complete the rounds. Gail began this in 2020 on her own, and then the following year she had blogging friends join in and help with the fun. I have participated in 3 from the sidelines and 1 as a host!

So, without further ado, here is the schedule! Remeber each host has a link up for you to post your progress, but the others will also be showing her version, so you get the added benefit of seeing 6 different approaches to the same prompt!
- January 13: Each of the co-leaders will be sharing their centre blocks (you will have to visit each of their blogs to see them). I will host the first linky party and you can also show your centre block.

How Do I Participate?
There is no official sign up! You just work along with us and you can post your progress each week. We are not hard task masters, and sometimes you might have to skip a week, but just sew along when you can and link up too, as you can be eligible for prizes! We tally up your links and award prizes after the parade of quilt. Each link is eligible for a prize!
Should I Do Anything Now?
You can start looking at your blocks, or sew up a new block. You also want to think about size and fabrics that will work. I will talk about this more next Monday, 1/13, but I always take into consideration how large I want the quilt to get as I make these. My longarm likes less than 50″ width, so that is my first consideration. More on that soon.

It makes so much fun in this time of the year that I am now well prepared (in my head)… and hopefully soon with my center block. The SAHRR 2024 is on my knees and is completely hand quilted. SAHRR 2023 needs to get the back done. May be I can motivate myself to be ready with these two now soon.
To all who are thinking “if” … it is so easy and makes so much fun and it develops and grows week by week. And every year I learn what works well for me and what I can do better. :-)
