There is a lot going on here at Kathleen McMusing, so I thought I would catch you up! My Fab Farm Sew Along #FFSAL2023 will be starting in a few weeks. If you are looking for a fun project, this is one I know you will enjoy. I have a couple of other projects going on at the same time, the Diatom QAL, and will post about my second row next week. I am also joining in on the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL, hosted by Sandra at MMMQuilts!, so I will be busy with all these projects in the coming weeks.
Moving My Website

Ok, I bit the bullet, and I am moving from one website hosting platform to another. The move should happen this week. I don’t know when it will start, but fair warning, things could get ugly. I will save money in the long run but, the new company is doing the installation, so fingers crossed that it all goes well. Full report once we have gotten past this! In case you need me, kathleenquilts@gmail.com will work as an email this week!
I turned off comments until this is over, too, so I don’t seem rude if things don’t come through!
Sewing Retreat

I’m off to sew with my small bee for a few days. I am looking forward to lots of sewing, great conversation, casual food and lots of laughs. My projects number 4: 1) Ships Ahoy by Cheryl Brickey in Just One Charm Pack*, 2)” My Strippy Stars” from Carole Carter at From My Caroline Home (a free pattern) and 3) 2 quilts from one of the 3 yard books (which is packed). My preparation over the last two weeks has been kitting the quilts, and doing some of the precutting. Not all is done but much of it is. I am expecting to come home with 2 tops and maybe even 4 if all goes well. I will be away and probably answering emails, but slowly if topic #1 doesn’t derail my email too much!
OMG

I will quilt and bind one of the retreat quilts. I am tagging Ships Ahoy as the one I will be my One Monthly Goal. These fabrics Smooth Seas by RJR Fabrics are being used in two quilts…Ships Ahoy and My Strippy Stars. I purchased the fabric over a year ago for last summer’s island sales, and that did not happen. This summer they will be ready!

I’m grateful to my followers and hope all good things come to you as spring begins to bloom. Wish me luck and I will see you on the other side! My next post will be that things are live as I expect it to happen sometime this week. If not, you may see a retreat summary!
