A Sewing Retreat

When I began writing this blog, I was on retreat! We spent 3 nights and 4 days sewing away in Bolton, MA. The retreat center is part of a shop called Quilted Crow, so if we forget anything there are supplies nearby! It was a wonderful 4 days. I made:
1. a top for the “See It-Sew It Blog Hop”
2. a moose from the Sew Fresh Quilts pattern – Buffalo Plaid Moose,
3. a block from the DIatom QAL, and a
4. placemat from a Quiltsmart Placematties pattern/interfacing.

It was a fun and productive time. So many of these things will be in my blog in more detail but here’s a peak of the 3 projects I can show you!
Upcoming Blog Hops

I am participating in two blog hops – the Villa Rosa Fast and Fun Blog Hop and Sew It – Show It Challenge: Shades of Blue. I’ll be back with the list of participants and dates soon, but for now, take a look at the fun patterns Villa Rosa has. Hint: They have kits on sale that include fabric for the top and the binding! That is so cool so you know you have a binding that will coordinate with the back. I have a giveaway too; my entry will post on 1/20 and I am so excited to share it with you. My friend on retreat sewed quite a few of these kits and she isn’t even in the blog hop! GIVEAWAYS are a part of this hop and I have one for you – so stay tuned!

The second blog is hop is Sew it, Show it: Shades of Blue sponsored by Carla of Creatin’ in the Sitcks. Here is what some of my blues look like. My posting is on the 24th and I am working on this quilt right now. I am definitely at the should I continue or do something else stage. More will be revealed very soon…so stay tuned. The deets about this quilt will be shared on the 24th.

Tips and Tutorials on the 22nd!
Of course, the 22nd of the month is also smack dab in the middle of the blog hops. For my long-time followers, you know I host Tips and Tutorials on the 22nd. Love to see you contribute so see if you can come up with a tip or tutorial to share from the 22nd to the 31st of January! I have one in mind, which may be a tutorial on a block that a friend is working on and a few others commented on. I always reserve the right to change my mind but I think that is what the tutorial I will be writing later this month.
So glad to have caught up with you, and I can’t wait to finish my blog quilts and show them to you this week. Until then, I hope you find some good quilting time.
