Welcome to the 23rd edition of Tips and Tutorials on the 22nd; I curate a collection of tips and tutorials (or other interesting tidbits) and you can also link up a tip or tutorial if I missed one. Recently, I read that blogs are coming back in vogue due to people become more cautious of some of the other platforms. Hooray! I don’t love some of the other modes and find it hard to keep up with everything. That being said, I don’t, so I hope that if you see something I missed you will link it up or let me know about it! I almost missed getting this done, but I was writing anohter post, and went to do “Coming Up on the Blog” and realized the 22nd was a mere 6 hours away!
I have decided that since I am such a slacker we will kick off a Tips and Tutorials anniversary party in January.
TUTORIALS:
The No Waste Flying Geese Method is back on this month. Tina of Quilting Affection Designs is a Studio 180 Instructor and she does a great job on using this tool. And, if you have more than one of these rulers, check out the project sheets that Tina listed on her website here.
Blocks:
Next up is the Corn on the Cob Block and the great tutorial and pattern ideas from Kris at ScrapDash and Phoebe Moon Designs.

If you missed the Island Batik Storm at Sea Hop, there are tons of great versions to look at. This you tube video by Andi of True Blue Quilts, gives a reprise of it and a tutorial on making the block.
Quilts:
Connie at Free Motion by the River has a great quilt, called Butterfly Cages, but I see hugs and kisses blocks and butterflies. You could easily adapt this with other applique shapes, but whatever you do, this is a fast, fun quilt to make and all the info is here for free!
Accessories:

I loved this Flower Coasters from Susan at QuiltFabrication. Those of you with time on your hands and gifts or housewarming gifts to make, here is a perfect one.

Here is your chance to link up tips and tutorials that you find. I would love to see some things I missed. It seemed I was always behind on my blogs, so, I am sure there are a few more out there!
Coming Up on the Blog:
Fall Mug Rug
Leather Sewing Kit
Tips and Tutorials on the 22nd
Polar Bear Plung Hop (1/24-28)
Good morning, Kathleen! I can’t believe it’s the 22nd already. This month went whizzing by. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
I love blogs too, so glad they are making a comeback! Thanks for the tips!
I love blogs too!! I forget to post on other platforms! LOL I’m trying to make myself remember to do a post on my website page on FB because it will then post to Instagram for me! I LOVED those Storm at Sea quilts on the IB blog hop! Last week I went through all my AccuQuilt dies to make a list of all I had purchased and found that BOB. I really need to do something with it! Thanks for the tips, Kathleen!
so much to try… thank you for listing these. I just found a good one to mention on my next sewing post so I could link up then. Those flowers are so cute!
I hadn’t heard that about blogs, but it’s good news! I thought I was going to have a tute for this round, but it didn’t work, so back to the drawing table. Maybe in December – or January.
It’s amazing how fast the months go by these days. Thanks as always for collecting these up each month. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s always interesting to see what’s up here, Kathleen! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Thank you for those links! I’ve got 3 open to peruse later. I like blogs too. I started a food blog in 2007, and it has migrated to a quilting blog. I’ve seen a lot of blogs come and go, and I’m glad they are coming back. I spend WAY too much time on Instagram and am going through my “following” list to cut it back.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sounds like a great year, Kathleen! Best of luck for a quilty 2022.
