I am tickled pink as I was nominated as an outstanding blogger by Vicki of Vicki’s Crafts and Quilting. And, just in case you don’t know about this award, here is a description of it: The Outstanding Blogger Award is given one blogger to another. It’s a way of supporting and acknowledging one another. As an award recipient, I answer some questions. Then, I get to nominate some blogs I enjoy and assign a few questions for the recipients to answer. I am passionate about my blog and sharing all sorts of information about quilting….a new pattern that I have made, a favorite tool or technique. I will answer Vicki’s questions first, then nominate a few bloggers and give them a few questions to answer. I’ve added a few favorite quilts for your enjoyment.

- Do you like having a deadline or do you work better when you are not underpressure?
- I like having a deadline and set a lot of them for myself. It helps keep me moving, but I do find that sometimes I make life a little harder than it needs to be.
- Are you one who likes taking classes or do you enjoy figuring out how to do it on your own?
- I love taking classes but I also love figuring out things – it really depends on the subject. In the past few years, I have taken a lot of classes for using a couple of the computer programs – Electric Quilt, Prostitcher, Prostitcher Designer, and Procreate. Now, I love them and find the skills invaluable in my quilting. I have dropped in on a lot of online classes this year and love the opportunity.
- What is your favorite snack?
- Anything…somedays salty somedays sweet. Heath Bars and Mounds are among my favorite but not something I keep in the sewing room or in the house.
- What is your first memory of learning how to sew?
- I was taught to sew by my grandmother and I made tissue hats for my dolls. My grandmother’s thimble is one of my treasured possessions, although it is not at all fancy/
- Have you ever taught someone how to quilt?
- Many people! I was a teacher at our local quilt store. However, I think my two favorite memories of teaching are sharing quilting with younger people. When my son was in first grade, I taught them all to make a 4 patch quilt and we “quilted” it on my machine. Another favorite memory, was teaching my nieces to quilt when they came for a week one summer.
- What was your least favorite quilt you ever made?
- My least favorite quilt may be the jelly roll race. As much as I love a fast quilt, there is no imagination in the process – just sewing to the finish line.

I nominate the following bloggers:
Nancy from Grace and Peace Quilting
Preeti from Sew Preeti Quilts
Vashuda from Storied Quilts

And here are my questions:
What do you love about your first quilt?
What do you love about your last quilt?
What is your biggest regret as a quilter?
Why did you start blogging?
What is your favorite drink when all goes wrong on a quilt?
I hope you have fun reading a little about me and my blogging.

Congratulations on your nomination! I’m glad to learn more about you and find that we like the same sweets. It’s no surprise that you taught quilting, and I love that you taught your son’s class to quilt. Laughing at your last question to your nominees! That Morning Glory Mosaic!
Fun to read your answers, Kathleen. I’m with you on the jelly roll race quilts; definitely not my thing.
Congratulations! I always enjoy reading our blog.
I enjoyed reading your answers, Kathleen! Deadlines work for me, too. I love that your grandma taught you how to sew and you taught your son how to sew. Wow, thanks for nominating me! I’m going to start thinking of my answers…
