February’s One Monthly Goal (OMG)

I don’t usually find this so hard, declaring a goal for the month. I often try to have it be a UFO or a project that I want to get done before the end of the month. However, this month is all about what lurks below.

We are moving to a smaller unit in the building, near the outside park so it is easier for Percy, the 13 year old labradoodle. However, I know this sewing studio is a big job. This is how it looked the last time I moved in 2017. I expect the picture on 2/15 of the studio to be very similar. But first, I must pack it!

But, we are not in this unit in Massachusetts all time; this new machine is in our cottage on an island in Maine. We will be there, probably 16 days at least this month. I will have some time for a project, but nothing too ambitious.

My OMG: Finish the Bernina Mastery course and Stitch out every stitch! I started doing 10 pages at a time and it is very doable. I am looking forward to finishing the book and seeing all the great stitches. Thank you Patty at Elm Street Quilts for helping me to do something new in a timely fashion.

I continue to try to do Project Quilting and the SAHRR (stay at home round robin) depending on how my time and inspiration goes. Both are fun in their own way. There’s time to jump in on either, so check them out if you are intrigued.

Hi Kathleen! I think that is a fabulous goal for a month filled with packing and moving. We have that going on here, too. Not us – thankfully – but Andrea, her husband, two littles and nearly the third baby-to-be. She is not supposed to lift anything over 10#. Yeah, that’s not happening easily. Good luck, my friend! I don’t envy you packing up your sewing room but you might find some gems that need your attention. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

I hear you on moving. My sewing room is always the first to get packed, and the last to get unpacked. Good luck with it, and enjoy your time in Maine.

Good luck on your move! We went from 2800 feet to 2100 and I am still trying to organize things better 4 years later!

Wow, that’s a lot of stitches! Sounds like a great project. I stitched out all my stitches (far less than 570) and I really love having that reference. Good luck with your goal and the packing!
