Today is the premier of Block #8 for the Monthly Block Challenge by Patterns by Jen.

Well this bird is certainly an inspiriting one. A tall pink bird has alway seemed to me to be such an oddity, but so beautiful. I love the videos of them moving, like synchronized swimmers or dancers. They are also social in a way that so many other birds are not – another fascinating fact.

This month’s block is an easy one, I think a requirement for an August block. There are a lot of QALs starting (see one I am involved in here) and just the lazy last days of summer makes an easy block seem just right!

One thing I recommend is something to keep pieces in order. Last year, I bleieve, I mad this board. It really is a simple and a fun project, so if you don’t have one, you may one to make on!

Please visit the other bloggers, and most especially Jen to get your pattern.

Kathleen,
I love your block. Thank you for sharing and thanks for sharing the quilt a long. I may just try to do that.
Oh, that’s a pretty block! I haven’t made mine yet, but will soon!
Perfect fabric choices for your flamingo block! It is beautiful!
I love that pink fabric in your block! I like to watch flamingo’s too….they really are a unique and fascinating creature!
Another very pretty block!
I have seen groups of these intriguing pink birds in zoo’s etc. and think they are so pretty. I however, don’t like the plastic lawn ornaments. Yesterday saw a yard with a way overdone amount of them, LOL But your pink block is so very pretty.
Hi Kathleen! Such a pretty, happy looking block. I really love the fabrics you have chosen – especially the white that seems to have just a wee sprinkle of pink throughout it as well. Nice! ~smile~ Roseanne
Super sweet pink block, Kathleen!
This is a really pretty block in those fabrics!
