This fabric has been stashed for a long time. I made napkins for people with them , and had a bunch leftover. Another pattern was in with the stash, but I just wanted to make placemats. I will show you how to do them and have an instructional sheet available so you can make them too! I hate binding placemats…66 inches of binding per placemat – YUUK! I love framing them and that is what this binding does. The prep is harder than the work….enough said. You can see it Friday at 4 on Facebook here or 4:30 on Instagram here.

This is my One Monthly Goal for May and one of my PhD projects – hooray. After these finish, I will post a catchup on where I am for my PhD (12 UFOs finished in 2020).

I thought I would include the entire schedule so you can catch up here or refer back at a later date.

See you there, Kathleen! Hopefully I remember–3 PM Central.
Hi Kathleen! I thought I was going to make one or both of your tutorials but I suspect I’ll actually be missing them instead. Our littles are coming over so mom and dad can buy a new car. It’s tough but someone has to take the hit. I assume I can watch the tape! ~smile~ Roseanne
You can! I am going to practice soon so I get the showing things on the screen right. Have fun with the lovely littles!
I’ll be watching for it, Kathleen!
Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project.
Binding placemats can be a pain. The self binding sounds like a good solution!
I love it! The problem is remembering to do it…setting up the placemat right but I think I finally have got it into my brain to do it this way.
I agree, too much binding in place mats per surface area! I have a friend who worked with a lot of those fabrics, so they still feel very familiar. Thanks for sharing at the Chameleon’s Colour & Inspiration Party.
Yes, it is way too much! I love being able to share with the everchanging Colorful One!
