It seems I blinked and I am getting end of the year notices. Wow. 2019 has flown by and now it is time to join, Yvonne Fuchs at QuiltingJetGirl and her linky party to plan for 2020. I so appreciate this; it really does help you hone in on what is important and what you want to accomplish. Before I get to that, however, let me review briefly my 2019 goal and my accomplishments.

2019 Summary: My goals for 2019 were outlined here.
Accomplishments
✔️Blog regularly – 2-3 times per week. 96 entries (88 in 2018)
✔️Design at least 6 quilts. 13 designs
✔️Finished 30 projects – that is a lot for me!
✔️Continued studying Electric Quilt 8 – feeling quite accomplished as I kept up with classes and continue to do so.
Missed the Mark:
✕ Write 6 patterns. I wrote 2 but only published one.
✕ Write more tutorials. I wrote 3 but want to write more

Unexpected things:
Purchased a long arm and computerized guidance.
Blogged for another fabric company
Started a sew along
Designed a pattern for Island Batik
Designed and made a quilt for Island Batik 2020 Spring Catalog

2019 Larger Goals:
More adventures will reappear on 2020.
Discerning my quilting path (teaching/business/etc) continues to evolve.

Where do I go from here? I am simplifying my list this years; some unexpected changes are giving me new opportunities so I need a little more time., however, there are smaller goals I will commit to below:
- Widen my quilting social network – participate in blog hops/sew alongs, etc. I will note where I am starting and work a little harder at this.
- Plan another sew along.
- Host a regular linky party.
- Finish one UFO and one PRO new project each month and work on my PhD with Gail.
- Keep up with Electric Quilt 8 lessons.
- Write some patterns. 12 is not an unreasonable goal this year (I hope).
- Have a giveaway at least 6 times during the year.
- Consider de-stashing both fabric and quilts.
Happy New Year!

It certainly sounds like 2019 was a milestone year and I wish you the best in 2020!
It was in so many ways, onward and upwards, balancing things as I go is what I am hoping for.
These are great goals, Kathleen! I’m excited for the Awesome Ocean SAL (my Octavians are almost done) and can’t wait to see what else you create in 2020! Best wishes for a peaceful end to 2019 and a fabulous 2020!
I am so glad to hear you were able to begin sewing on the Octavians! Best wishes to you and yours for a fantastic and fun 2020!
Wow girl that is an ambitious list, wishing you all the best at meeting each and every goal…you can do it!!
It ought to keep me out of trouble, don’t you think!
Hi Kathleen! It sure looks like 2019 was a great year for you. And your 2020 list is smaller somehow?!! A linky party for you – that’s cool. Let me know when you have a button designed for it and I’ll add it to my website. I hope I can become a regular participant. And the monthly color block will be fun. I’m sewing my January one today . . . maybe. Or quilting something, maybe. Or just reading! HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
Well, it is more concise. I didn’t pick a word or overall goals as I don’t what I really want to do…seems to be a theme doesn’t it. I have spent quite a few years clearing out the UFOs and am more moving into PROs (projects that I have intended to do OR NOT as it may turn out to be).
Great job, Kathleen! I love your Unexpected List!
Thank you, Nancy! Surprises are always good for list keepers.
Ohhh, 2019 was busy. Looking forward to what you bring to us in 2020, especially the SAL.
It was busy and 2020 is shaping up to be that way too!
