How did October fly by so quickly? With 31 days you’d think it wouldn’t but alas we are at the end of our first 7 days in November. One thing that does mean is to commit to a goal for the month, my OMG that I declare with the support of Patty at Elm Street Quilts. My goal this month is to design, make and quilt a little project for the Partners in Design group. I don’t have the fabric picked out but I think I know exactly what I want to do; so I am off to hunt down some Christmas and Winter fabrics in my stash and get to work.

Reminder #1: Holiday Gifts to You begins Sunday, November 17th. You can read more about it here. You will see some fun gifts – for yourself or others that you can make. They will be simple (mostly) and fun (definitely).

Reminder #2: Awesome Ocean Sew Along begins November 23rd with block one. On November 16th, I’ll post a little about fabric selections and show you what I am working with, but you can read all about it here. Its easy. It took less than an hour to cut and make the first blocks. I’ll try to time pieces so people have an idea of what you are getting into. It means every 2 weeks make a block with me. I will work ahead and tell you the pitfalls of the block, so hopefully you will have an easier time than I do! Really, it is simple stitch and flip. I am trying out this new ruler, Simple Folder Corners*. I’ll let you know what I think, as I do hate how inaccurate that can be for no good reason.

Reminder #3: A Piece of…Blog Hop for Island Batik continues. I have been wowed by what I have seen so far. Remember there are giveaways – some of the designers as well as a different giveaway each week from Island Batik!

Kathleen you are one busy girl this month. I’m going to be watching your Ocean SAL. Lots of cute blocks in that quilt.
I am glad you will be following along! I appreciate all the support.
Hi Kathleen! Oh, I’m glad you reminded me about the blog hop. I’ve been visiting all week but forgot about today. I look forward to the Partners in Design hop that starts one week from Sunday. You have lots of fun posts coming up! ~smile~ Roseanne
Good luck wining fabric!! I try not to enter these as I do have plenty of unused IB fabric. I better get sewing and off the computer.
Time files when you have so many fun projects to work on! I’m looking forward to seeing your Holiday Gift to you Hop project.
What are you making (email me)? I have gone through a dozen ideas and still not settled but I will today – wreath wall hanging, holiday fireplace banner, drawstring bag, ornament hanging, ornaments…. You can see I just cant decide!
I emailed you 🙂
Can’t wait to see what you make! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project.
Yes, me too!!! Its too funny that I just can’t decide. Too many ideas.
I’m excited for the Partners in Design hop! I’m considering Awesome Ocean, but I’ll probably just be a lurker instead.
I’m glad your looking forward to them. I am too. The awesome ocean is doable with 2 blocks every 2 weeks. The key is to as stay organized and see when you can pay attention.
