I can’t believe it is the 4th Quarter already. Here are my goals.

Table-topper Challenge for Island Batik: Add Borders, Quilting, Binding
This project is close to being done. There is a companion block; a few more decisions need to be made – placemats, door hanging, both??? Time will tell but not too much time…October and the season require a finish!

Tools of the Trade Challenge for Island Batik: Everything
I don’t know if this will be the fabric I use, but it might. I have an idea which tool, but haven’t decided. So this picture is a placeholder for this project.

3D Challenge for Island Batik : Everything
I haven’t decided anything about this one. I am doing a 3D/optical illusion Electric Quilt 8* design course, so I am sure something will come to mind. I also have in mind a fireplace hanging – to update the living room for the holiday.

Cotton & Steel Baby Quilt: Piece, quilt & bind
I am afraid this baby quilt keeps getting pushed off to the side. Will it win this quarter and get done, only the quilting muses know!

Holiday Gifts To You: Everything
Partners in Design will have a Gift Hop from November 11-25. I promised to design a gift for you to make for yourself or someone else! Well, I have a few ideas for this hop, but am not yet decided. The picture will suffice for now. I don’t have a firm idea, but keep mulling things over in my head.

Catalog Quilt: Put the top together, Quilt, Bind, Mail
I was hoping that all the blocks for my first quilt for the Island Batik catalog would be finished by today – they almost are – but a power outage of 2 days put me behind. 32 seams and the 16 blocks for the center will be done then 4 corner blocks to be made. I won’t be able to show a picture at the end of the quarter but maybe a rolled up binding/quilt will suffice to prove it is finished!
Good luck to all participating in the FAL!

2019 FAL Quarter 4 FAL
You have some fun projects brewing. Will look forward to seeing them progress!
The fun never stops does it!
It looks like a busy quarter for you, and lots of batik in your future!
Yes indeed. I love the batiks but always try to keep one or two of my ufos going too.
Hi Kathleen! I love your list! I also just adore “I don’t know if this will be the fabric I use, but it might.” And, “placemats, door hanging, both”?? I love all these nice SOLID decisions. It easy to quantify a goal when it may or may not be finished. HAHA! I just LOVE this. A poor baby is waiting for its quilt, but oh how annoying to be without power for TWO days. I’ve been jonesing on sewing lately and have been enjoying any time I can squeeze in. I hope you are as well. ~smile~ Roseanne
NO solid decisions here. I should have gotten on the stick and just finished it up. I like what I have and the little additions I made to it – not much but I think it improves it. My blocks are ready for the catalog top; I cut the rest of the squares for the corner blocks, so I am well prepared to finish it early next week. The loss of power undid me as I really thought I’d be returning to MA with a quilt top and doing anything on the computer was excruciating as I could only use my phone as a hotspot and it kept kicking out after a bit – everyone doing the same thing on the island I am sure. Now, all is back to normal and it is date night with a leisurely Sunday planned!
You have some rich and gorgeous fabrics to work with. I wish you lots of uninterrupted sewing time, hoping you will complete all your goals.
Thanks, Preeti. I will need some of the uninterrupted time to get to all of it….I am feeling badly about that baby quilt that keeps getting put off!
Those Island Batiks keep your plate full, don’t they?! Have fun! On behalf of the Finish Along hosts, thanks so much for joining us again this quarter!!!
They sure do. I look forward to the New Year where I can get back to the other UFOs on the list as Nov/Dec are pretty tough for doing too many extra projects!
