Sew Let’s QAL – Block 10

We are in the home stretch for this QAL and I am so pleased to share my version of Laura Piland’s Button block. (of Slice of Pi Quilts). We are in the third segment of this mystery quilt along with the last 4 blocks to be released. The first block was released on March 12 and the last will be released on August 27th. Then you will have a month to finish it up – details below!

Now, back to this great block. We can count on Laura for simple but imaginative blocks! You would expect nothing less from Laura, would you? But, as a host for this segment, my job is to help you with a few hints to make things go smoother. Let’s get to it!

Hint: Pin on the Discard Rings. This way you can cut around those piece easily.

Hint: Label as you cut out your pieces. It is important to know which piece of fusible belongs to which grouping.

Hint: Clip together the labeled pieces. I liked having the circle and rings together.

Other than that, I think you are good to go! Below you will find the other hosts and the links to their take on this block.

Hi Kathleen! Great tips – the sound like they come from experience which always helps me. I am not at all surprised that this block is designed by Laura. And it really represents a button so well. ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh indeed – more experience than I’d like to admit! It is a great little pattern.

Your block is stunning! That purple fabric is just gorgeous. And I love the tip to clip the pieces for each button together.
