Island Batik Ambassadors are a fun bunch. Sometime, early in July, the comments started buzzing about notices of shipments from Island Batik. Some of the early ones arrived the week after the 4th of July. It is pretty hysterical – fabric thirsty quilters stalking their delivery men and watching the updates on the delivery dates – its too funny. Some rip it open, others wait until a quiet moment, but all in all it is wild time on social media until everyone gets his or her box!Mine arrived Monday, July 15 but I didn’t get to see it until the 17th. I was asked to post my video on facebook on July 25th at 9 pm, so it feels like I have had it for a bit, but not been able to show it to you.

Island Batik is such a generous company. Their industry partners, too, are just as generous – Accuquilt, Aurifil and Hobbs Batting. I feel so privileged to receive so many wonderful items.
You can see the video on my You Tube Channel or at my Facebook page for KathleenMcMusing.
Below you will find the goodies up close.

Hobbs Batting* is one of our industry partners and they are always so generous. This season I am using the wool and wool blend battings. I have been putting it off, but I am so anxious to see how they work, so watch for more information in the near future.

Here’s one of the sets of 8 half yard pieces – 4 basics & 4 blenders that coordinate with the Summer collection – sprout, raspberry, periwinkle, bermuda, jelly, pumpkin, waterfall and chameleon!
This Summer collection is called Mermaid Cove and is available now. Is it gorgeous! I just love the mermaid and the turtle coordinating fabrics. This grouping may have my name on it.

These two threads are from our industry partner Aurifil and are perfect for Mermaid Cove – #2912 Platinumand #4659 Mango Mist. They are both 50 weight and

These basics are soooo helpful. I love the solid batiks – the white, grey & black. The neutral fabric, Whip Cream, is delightful. AND Island Batik is going to offer more solids soon. Check out the website to see what is coming.

This one will coordinate with one of my other groups and I am so excited about it. The too is 4 basics and 4 blenders: marbles, grape, lagoon, ocean, plum, periwinkle, bermuda and grey!

Graphic GEMS!!!! What is not to love about this – masculine motifs, jewel tone colors, & gears. I can’t wait to come up with something for this – I love it so much.
As I saw the boxes, I was really hoping for this AccuQuilt* die! I have one quilt in the work that can use this die, but it will be for our September Challenge so I need to work up another quilt – so I will quickly have 2 ideas for it!

I can’t say thank you enough to these wonderful companies – Island Batik our ambassador sponsor and their industry partners Accuquilt, Aurifil and Hobbs. September through December projects are well funded!

Nice job on the video Kathleen!! You will love the wool battings!!!
Thanks, Vicki. I don’t mind doing it, except for the ever critical part of myself.
Hi Kathleen! Lots of great goodies in that box, and that thread. I love the multi-colored one. ~smile~ Roseanne
That variegated is delicious – I would have called it creamsicle! Happy weekend to you!
Too much fun, Kathleen!!! I’m looking forward to your crossed canoes project!
Me, too. You won’t have to wait to long. Meanwhile, gotta get some things done before I head out tomorrow. Wish we were meeting up!!
