This quilt was exhibited in the Rising Star Quilt show in 2000 – almost 19 years ago. For a long time it hung in our living room. It was later replaced by my quilt “Whitby Abbey”, which is still there. This quilt is now in my bedroom and I love seeing it.
The critters came from this book by Charlotte Patera. I dont’ believe it is still in print, but I really loved making the quilt.
These two are among my favorites – the fish with the little smirk cracks me up.
This bird is very much in contention too as a favorite. I’ll try to get better pictures these are a little out of date. Two of my other favorite things is the early Kaffe Fasset (still in print I think) and the black border with the sliver of the moon. Funny thing about this quilt – I was working on my hand quilting skills quilting in black – couldn’t see a thing. But I guess that way I had the confidence to continue. There is also some quilting in a deep gold.
So, other than that I have been busy with a few secret sewing projects. Tomorrow, I should be doing my one monthly goal (late night post today for the deadline) and my monthly color block – one ufo and one finished block.
