Projects progress…..and moving to wordpress

This is part of what I did last week.  Here are a few blocks from  mmmQuilts Adult Plus Playtime QAL!

  1. Row 1 completed
  2. Row 2 blocks made (only two in the picture)
  3. Row 3 will be made this week and flimsy done

The second priority will be for  my role as an Island Batik Ambassador.  I am making something called Funky Friends and fabric and a pattern will becoming soon.  Also, I’ll be piecing my modern challenge – the blocks may be done before the stuffy gets made.  I made a test block and I think I know how to proceed….we’ll see.

My third priority is Tish’s Fireworks QAL at Tish’s Adventures in Wonderland.  It is using my scraps and the schedule is very gentle.

Fourth, a little more hand-applique and this will be ready to be sandwiched.  We had some overnight guests from Alaska a week ago – they have one of these.  We went there in 2008.  YIKES.  Time to finish this project!

I will be moving this blog to WordPress.  I have been getting more and more frustrated with my current platform and have been contemplating it.  I am not “doing” any of the work, so I hope it will be seamless.  You will find me at KathleenMcMusing.com.  Similar but different.

And, I like my windows clean in Maine.  We begin this week, I believe the number is something like 37.

Wish me luck, it feels like a very full week!

I feel for you Kathleen. I did the same last year. I didn't do the work either. It was much less stressful. Hope all goes well.

I'm using the folks you recommended. So far so good. I have even made another site on their free platform just to get the hang of it! Hope you are doing well in your move.

Good luck with the windows! I cleaned ours a few weeks ago and it always is so lovely to see how bright things are afterwards. Let us know when to the new blog is up; I hope the transition is smooth for you. And what lovely projects to be working on! I look forward to seeing your ambassador projects.

I love clean windows but I.HATE doing them. Of course, I usually have to do it the hottest day of the year. We have had rain since I announced it so maybe not until the 4th of July (which I did one year). They do look so much better but there are so.many. The projects are fun, the ambassador one I am making isn't working as envisioned so I may redo/or continue….we'll see.

I love the fabrics you are using for Fireburst, it's going to be so pretty! Good luck with the more to WordPress. Do write a post and let us know how that goes. I know so many people are considering the move.

You are so sweet about the fireburst fabrics. I can't wait to cut into them! I will let you know. I put it off moving last year, and am so annoyed with the inability to receive emails. I am having someone do it, so I am hoping it is very easy!

That's a few windows to wash, but I bet it will be wonderful when it's done. I love your Fireburst fabrics, and your Plus Playtime is coming along nicely! You're right, we did have similar posts today! Hope the move to WordPress goes smoothly!

It is a lot of windows, but I love clean ones. It did crack me up about the posts. So far so good with WordPress, I see my site but not the new iteration, so I am hoping it is smooth. There are always a few bumps, but that is to be expected.

Great contrast in your plus blocks! The overall effect is going to be great. I'm subscribed to your blog via email and hope that just continues as you switch over.

I love them too. It violated some of my rules about using stash, but the white is stash (the rest, not so much). I will keep that in mind and do a last entry on Blogger and see if the switch happens – you'll be one of my test cases!

I like clean windows too but DETEST cleaning them. We did a major clean last year, so this year is a lick and a promise, ha. Well, more than that when the birds leave their calling er dropping cards, LOL. LOVE the colours for Fireburst! I have mine pulled just need to cut. Also just love the navy shadow plus, well love the way the quilt is shaping up, period! So exciting to see all of them!

EXACTLY my thought on the windows! 90% are tilt in, so I shouldn't complain….but there are so many. Fireburst is an exciting color combo, I have saved, err hoarded that paisley and it will be fun to see it used! The navy shadow is so much fun. The colors are lousy in the photos right now, but that background is perfect, white with blue and green sprinkles. Lots of stuff keeping me out of trouble.

So hard to switch platforms, but having someone else do it is so smart! I wish you nothing but a smooth transition. Like me, you have a lot of projects going on but I'm confident you'll get them all done.

Thanks, Jennifer. It is live now and I am replying on the site. Can you let me know if you receive an email about this? I do have a lo as do you. Wondering if you’d be interested in “FaceTiming” a call sometime (after I settle in with WordPress) around writing patterns?

Hi, From my experience when you reply on wordpress, the commenter doesn’t get an email notice unless they also have a wordpress blog. Since I receive an email notice whenever someone comments and it contains their email address, I reply by personal email. I used to copy and past my response into the blog by their comment but due to the volume of comments, I’ve had to discontinue that unless it is a question or something needs clarification. I’ve recently updated to a paid plan to get more media storage and remove the ads.
